I am in trouble!!

Ok maybe not bigg trouble but my consultant will not be happy when she sees my hair. I got very wet last week and my hair has had some slippage! Ugh I know she is going to be really upset, or maybe glad because that means she has to work longer on my hair and that means more money...Oh well we shall see!!

The last retightening I had to cut off some of my hair because it was too long and it looked funny. The last consultant jacked me up LOL and my new one Musu had to correct her mistakes. Thank God for Musu!!

A new way to Shampoo!!

So this may not be a brand new way to shampoo but I find that it is the best way for me! I get a plastic spray bottle one that has a foam setting, and I place 1/3 water to 2/3rds shampoo in the bottle. I set the sprayer on foam and I spray it into my hair and scalp. This creates a nice foam that gets into the crevicies of my hair and scalp. I love the way my hair came out feeling light and fluffy and extra clean. I used the spray then rinsed it out of my hair using one of those sink attachement hoses from Sally's. I make sure I use a white towel so that each time I wash my hair I can dab the towel to see if my hair is clean. If I dont see any dirt on the towel then I know my hair is really clean.....I love it!! I then just place my blow dryer on the warm setting and after I have separated my locks I dry my hair and bam! I am done! Not to bad...All of that can be done in under 1 1/2 hours.

Wonderful Woes

So I am going for my second tightening on Friday. I have to admitt I was a little upset when I realized that I have to go each month to keep my hair looking right. I mean 100.00 per month is very expensive. I am going to have to start going every two months to feel like I am saving money. I love my loctician she is great  and fast she finished my hair in less than three hours and to top if off she was sick. Poor think kept on going and fininshed my hair. I cant wait until my hair is long enough to put in a pony tail I am quite tired of curling my hair every day!

I dont like sleeping in rollers and I dont like using heat on my hair. I have got to think of something that is quick and pretty or this will get old very soon. Check out my latest pictures...

3 Weeks are up!

So it is time for my three week tightening. I have a couple that have come loose but other than that some of them have locked and a few others are still in the locking process. I will be so glad when my hair has fully locked because I will be able to actually wash my hair with out binding it up. I think I will be able to really get to the nitty gritty and clean out my scalp. The best part about my hair is that it really holds curls well. The worst part is that...well so far there are not any bad parts. I will post a three week picture so that you can see how my hair has completely filled in. You can no longer see the grid so that makes my hair appear even.

Well until tomorrow night...see you later!

Week Two

So today I attempted to wash my hair and put it in some sort of style. I decided to try bamboo twists and well they just did not come out right. It think they will look good once I cut off the rest of my permed hair. Also I washed my hair twice but I still have dandruff! Ugh, my hair is growing so fast I can't keep up with it. Perhaps that is a perk! I will post a picture of my bamboo twists later..

Deciding to become locked

Here I am with micro braids...
I have always loved new hairstyles, but I hated going to the hair dresser. My family will be the first to tell you how I would do my hair at home trying to figure out what worked best on my hair texture. My hair was thick so when I went to the hair dresser it would not hold any curls the next day unless they use that freeze stuff that I hated. So my sisters talked me into trying wigs. That worked pretty well but my hair would suffer underneath. I then started to get braids. I would receive so many compliments on my hair and it was so easy to manage.
Well one time I decided to get Senegal twists, because I was going on a trip to Honduras. I was sweating and getting my hair wet quite often. So when it came time take them out, you can guess what happened. Yep my hair locked up, and not in a good way. So I went to my hairdresser and she had to chop my hair off. There was no salvaging my hair.

This is when I decided to go natural. I went to this upscale salon and paid about 200.00 for them to teach me how to do my hair. It worked and my hair grew like wildfire but then it started to hurt so much when I combed it and it was a pain I did not want to live with! So I broke down and permed my hair!!! Yep and I got it shaved in the back. My hair was so long it came past my ear with the perm. I was shocked because with it natural it was no where near that long.

Well that night after I got my perm I was really upset with myself. I cried the next morning because I new I had made a huge mistake. I hated curling my hair and I hated all those chemicals. I vowed right then and there I would not put any more perms in my hair.

I decided to get braids one more time and get sisterlocked in September of 09. So I had to stick with it. Well I got braids two more times an a sew-in just to hold me over. It was tough, I had to get pep talks from family and friends to keep my hair natural. Oh and not to mention wearing that hot wig!! Yep I knew something had to change.

So on September 12, 2009 I officially became SISTERLOCKED!

See the grid pattern that lets you part your hair and wear it in many styles
The one above is my favorite!

I am so pleased with the way my hair came out, although I wished I had cut off my permed hair and got an even cut all over my head but I have received several compliments and some were very surprising. There were a few times I walked out of the house feeling naked because I did not have my "hair". But as soon as the air got to my head, I got over that feeling very fast.

One day I went to Sally's to get some rollers for my hair and the cashier says to me "are those braids in your hair" ? I told her they were sisterlocks and explained to her what they were and she was so excited that she called her friend right then and there. FYI I was waiting to be rung up....and she asked me who did then which at that time I gave her my locktician's card and told her to give her a call and she will help her make a decision.

She was so excited and she kept telling her friend how pretty she thought my hair was. When I herd her say to her friend "that lady wont let me take a picture of her hair, she does not know me" I told her to give me her friends number and I will text her a picture of my hair.

I hope her friend gets sisterlocks because I love them and she will too.
