So I decided to Henna my hair to see what all of the fuss was about. I purchased Jamilia Henna from amazon. Here is what I put in my henna:
Jamilia Henna extra sift
No protien conditioner
Lemon Juice ~1tbl spoon
1/2-1 cup water (two if you use the entire packet)
Olive oil (I just eyeballed it)
You want a pasty consistency. So I let mine sit over night and I used it the next afternoon. This is what it looked like before I put it on my hair..see how the dye has been released by the red streaks. I then covered it with saran wrap and a plastic cap to reduce dripping (did not work I need the cotton ball strip next time), anyway so I let it sit for about 2 hours.
I washed my hair to open up my hair and then I smashed it on.
Results Before
.well it was soft, it did color my hair faintly. My curls were pretty but not like everyone proclaimed. I will try Henna twice more to see if it changes over time. But it was fun!!
..After It was very soft and pretty but it made my hair look very dry afterwards. Next time I will use indigo or find a dark brown to balance out the red.

New product!! The best ever!!!
So I was talking to my niece and she was telling me about the time she cut off her dreads and kept a mini fro. Well she stated that her stylist used Paul Mitchell on her hair. I said what?!?! I can't imagine it working on my hair now that its natural. So I asked her what kind. she said she used the Paul Mitchel sculpting foam with conditioners.
So here is a before and after pic of my hair....Tell me what you think!
I know the pictures are not the best but I can seriously tell the difference with my hair!! I love it!! Woop Woop to Paul Mitchell!

Sore Scalp
So my scalp is HURTING!!! My scalp has been giving me a quite a bit of pain in the crown area. So I went on a search and asked my mom what should I use to remedy my sore scalp, she said that perhaps oil would work. So I decided to try olive oil and I also heard milk would work so I will give that a shot.
Now on to my product review. I used the Shea Moisture Repair and Transition kit. It was ok...not great but ok. My hair was dry and I know I have between a 4A and 4C in some places so I will keep using it but I probably not purchase it again. I think I will put the olive oil on my scalp and sleep overnight. I will report back later to tell you all how it turned out. I hope it works because I can't live like this :(

Back in the saddle...
Well I went from combing out my locks to wearing my hair natural to perming my hair to finally chopping it all off to begin the process all over again. I mean seriously the products out there when I started were almost non existent...now they are every where!! So I am going to try them until I find the ones that work for me.
Products...
I started with Talia Waajid Kinky herbal comb out. I love this product on my daughters hair but it does nothing for my hair in its current state.
So I bought the Shea Moisture Repair and Transition Kit. I will report back on this product...I have seen a lot of good reviews for this one.
All in all I am back in the saddle...sad to say I am not excited about starting over but I know my hair will be longer by the end of the year. I will post pictures soon.

Big Hair
So this is my hair at 10 months! Yeah it is grooooowwwwwinnnng!!! I am at that stage where I can't do anything with my hair but it is beautiful! I love the full look of my hair and the wild but tame look. I could probably do some up dos but it takes too much pulling on my hair and I gave it up. Anyway I am still holding on!

Rolling Rolling Rolling
It has been 9 months since I became locked and have been through some good and bad times with my hair. I realized that if I don't curl my hair it will look unkempt and the glorious part about sister locs is that it looks even better with curls. So I do my bantu knots and curl my hair over night...I am too scared to go out in public with the knots but I think they look really pretty! So my hair is slowly touching the back of my neck and coming down past my ear! I am enjoying having these locks and I think I will keep my hair for years to come.

Whew...things are hairy
So my hair is looking extremely dry these days! I have no clue how to keep moisturized with out adding too much oil and with out washing it. Other than that I need to take my 6 month picture so that you all can see how much my hair has grown. My hair has going through the shrinkage stage so it looks shorter than it actually is. I am really in that stage where I am disliking the styling of my hair. I can't do much with my hair at this moment but perhaps I can look around and see what I can do. Anyway....times are interesting!
